Today was just one of those days in which we needed to get out of our house since we have been pretty much snowed in for a week. I have not worked in over a week because of the weather so it seems like an eternity. Anyways, we decided to try and drive to the gym which was a sucess and it was nice to get out. We had a nice workout and decided since we were out we wanted to get some dinner and enjoy it while we can. We ate at Baja Fresh and when we came out our car had been broken into on the passenger side right where I sit. My yoga bag (which I take everytime I go to the gym whether it was for yoga class or not) was gone. In it was my keys, cell phone, ipod and my yoga mat of course which I had just gotten about a month ago. The window is smashed and there is glass all over the passenger side of the car. We have spent the last hour or so looking for quotes and how to get a new cell phone without having to pay an arm and a leg. I just thought I would share my frustration and for some reason it makes me feel better. Nice holiday time hugh?

Snowed In with my new Camera!!!
I know as long as I have lived here we have never had a snow day like this (or a snow week I should say). Last week it started to snow on Sunday and I didn't get to go to work all week since the weather was mild and we didn't have any of our patients coming in. That means I was stuck here at home with nothing to do but watch TLC and go to the gym, which I did only 3 times. Anyway, it is now the next Sunday and I have been off work for 10 days or so and I really miss work. With the looks of things now, I will not be going all week until things get better especially since my car is stuck in a foot plus of snow and ice. We missed the Hill Family Christmas today and it was hard not going. We will make it up by staying over at my parents on Christmas Eve to spend more time with the family we missed.
For my Christmas gift for probably the rest of my life I got a Nikon D60 camera which I have wanted for a long time and didn't think I would be able to get until it finally went on big time sale at Costco and we picked it up on Friday night. Thank goodness we did it then because as soon as Saturday morning hit, there was snow covering the streets and we could not go anywhere which means we are really snowed in!!! I have been taking a lot of pics with it though so I figured I would post some of my favorites.

Christmas Tree
Yesterday we were able to spend the morning and early afternoon up on the mountain with some of our closest friends the Morris'. We left around 9am and stopped and the famous "Joe's Doughnuts" in Sandy which I have not done for a long time. We headed up towards Mt.Hood and took a route Kyle and I had never seen which was really nice to see even though it would have been nicer if there was not as much fog. We drove towards the top of the hill, parked and walked around to find the perfect trees to cut down. We do not have our own place again yet so we didn't get a tree (they got two). I was able to take a few great pics of the kids as well as a few group shots which we have not had in a while. We had a great time with them (we always do). I will post the pics when I get home tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Cannon Beach Weekend
This past weekend Kyle and I were able to spend the weekend away in Cannon Beach. It was so nice to get away and be ourselves in one of our favorite places to go: the beach. He surprised me one night when I got home from work and told me we were going to be staying at the Surf sands Resort which was absolutely beautiful. Here are a few pictures from the weekend. I wish I would have gotten more of the beautiful sunset. It was perfect. I didn't want to leave at all but reality was about to hit us Monday (going back to work) so we didn't want to leave there to late. I will go back there again for sure.

Go Blazers!!
These past couple months, Kyle and I have been dedicating ourselves to something new. The Blazers!!!! I have always been supportive of the team but this year is different. We have seen every game so far and two of those were ones we were able to see in person which were both wins! We have more games to go to and of course our 2nd annual (a new tradition) to go to the Christmas day game. I got my Brandon Roy jersey this weekend and wore it to the game on Saturday which they won of course. We are very excited and are very happy that since we get off early from our new jobs, we are able to watch the games at home or go to them at the Rose Garden. I will post some pictures as soon as I can of our new attire and a couple games we went to.

Sick on Halloween
This year Halloween was not so fun for us. I was home sick for 3 days with a bad cough and stuffed head. I should be used to it by now since it happened to me every year around this time. The weekend before we had a great time at Trina's birthday party and Karen got to come to town for it so it was great especially since we had not seen her since our wedding. The weekend Karen was here, we went to the Barlow football game and stayed the night with my family and had a great time. It was weird waking up at their house though, but nice. I am still kind of stuffed up so this blog might be all mixed up.
The new jobs are going really well and we are both enjoying them more and more every day. We will keep updated with the new jobs and such as time goes on. Happy late Halloween!!

My New Job
As of the 11th of October, I am no longer working in the pharmacy at Costco. I was offered a job here at Emanuel in the wound and burn clinic as a clinical specialist and am loving it. I have met some really nice people here and can't wait to meet more and get more familiar with the hospital setting. I have my own office and huge desk which I really enjoy. I miss my regulars and some of the employees from the pharmacy but this job is a great starting point for me to move up within the Legacy system and begin my career. Kyle also started a new job with a bank downtown Vancouver which his office looks over the Columbia river which I am jealous of since my office is in the basement while they are remodeling our previous clinic. I will post more about my position as time goes on.
For all of you that know my dad, his surgery went really well and he looks amazing. He is almost back to normal now and has gotten his driving privelages back as of about a week or so ago so he has his freedom back. I am not sure of when he will go back to driving the bus though. My mom and him have been eating really well and exercising to keep him up where he should be. We are all very happy to see him back on his feet and doing well.

Dad's Surgery
Yesterday my dad had a surprising quadruple bypass surgery on his heart as a result of a heart attack he had on Tuesday afternoon. He had admitted himself that afternoon with chest pain to the ER and was immediately taken in for tests which we negative for a heart attack but they wanted to keep him overnight for observation. That next morning he was sent to a Good Sam for an angiogram which found blockage and the evidence of a heart attack. The doctors decided surgery would be the best option so they scheduled him for Friday morning.
It was very unexpected and rough on all of us but we had great support and prayers from all of our family and friends and we able to get through it really well. Dad is doing greater than the doctors and nurses had expected and will be moved to his own room later this evening. He has been sitting up and talking since yesterday early evening which is wonderful. He is such and strong person so we knew he would do really well and we were obviously right. Thank you again to everyone who has visited, sent flowers, said prayers and most of all believed in him. We could not have done it without you all. Thanks again. We love you DAD!!!

California and Blofsky Wedding
For our major summer trip, we were able to drive down to California and visit a couple hot spots and attend Sarah and Eric's wedding in Chico on August 2nd. We went to Discovery Kingdom Amusement and Water Park, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Alcatraz and Chico of course. We had a great time and it was nice to visit somewhere I had never been before and take a lot of pictures. My PSP died two hours into the trip and would not recharge which made the car ride a bit long but between naps and many stops, we did alright.

End of Summer
Wow, summer has come and gone (for the most part). I have not been blogging since the start of the summer or even before but I have posted a few photos to reflect back on the fun we have had. We are getting ready to move to Kyle's parents house for a few months to save up money and buy a house which we have been working hard for since we got married last August. However, we figure by saving on rent and other things we will be able to have our house and start our family a bit sooner.

A Bit Behind
Obviously it is now May of 2008 and I am just adding to the blog but I thought it would be fun to do even though we have almost been married a year already. Time has flown by. The wedding and honeymoon were better then we could have ever imagined and I would not have changed any of it. Now that we are up and moving with this thing I will try to keep it up to date, especially for the people we do not see very often.
We are ready for the summer and have a couple trips planned. One to Sunriver with my family this weekend and Sarah and Eric's wedding in Chico at the beginning of August which will be fun especially since we get a whole weeek down there and a whole week away from work.
